A ti lọ, a ti dé.

Phew! I’m actually back here. It has been 4 years since my last newsletter, hasn’t it? I won’t tell you whose brilliant idea it was to revive a blog in an era where nobody reads anything anymore 😂 In the meantime, here’s a quick recap of what I’ve been up to:

Work, Movement & More Movement

I started a new job. A big one. One that challenged me in new ways and made me rethink everything I thought I knew about work, leadership, and myself.

I moved. Again. Actually, not once. Not twice. Three times. At this point, packing up my life has become second nature, but tbh every move still comes with its own problems…how am I not an expert at moving yet?

New Places, New Perspectives

In one of my last newsletters, I shared a few countries I traveled to between 2019 and 2021 and how I had the time of my life. However, I’ve always wanted to travel more…to see new places and experience life in different corners of the world and in the past few years, I made more of that happen – Gambia, Senegal, the U.K., Rwanda, the U.S., Côte d’Ivoire, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Benin Republic, Uganda…did I get it all? Each place brought its own magic!

Senegal gave me the perfect mix of beach vibes in Saly and city vibes in Dakar. In the U.K., I went to London, Oxford, and a couple of other charming cities that had my heart. Gambia, though…that was pure heaven. Our stay had the most breathtaking view of the beach. In the mornings, I’d take the most serene walks along the shore, sometimes alone and other times with my friends. In the evenings, the golden hour was to die for! Those few days were so unforgettable that I almost didn’t want to leave.

Every new city definitely added a new layer to my perspective, not just about the world but about how I fit into it.

Growth in All Directions

I made new friendships. Lost some old ones. Some endings were quiet, others loud. Some made sense, others still don’t. But through it all, I’ve been learning a lot…about myself, about the kind of relationships I want to nurture, and about the ways I’ve changed.

I’ve also been relearning my whys – why I think the way I do, why I act or react the way I do, why I make the choices I make, etc. It’s just been a mix of deep introspection, and I guess paying attention to my own patterns.

And oh, I started going to the gym again, no fanfare, no “new year, new me” announcement. Just showing up and hoping I can keep the momentum going.

So What Happens Now?

I don’t post videos on YouTube anymore. Will I ever return? Maybe. Maybe not. But if you want to be in the loop, you can still subscribe just in case I decide to put one out every now and then.

As for the blog? I’m keeping it simple. I post when I want to. No pressure. No content calendar. Just writing when it feels right.

In 2021 when I sent out my last newsletter, I didn’t know what the next step would look like. Four years later, I still don’t. And that’s fine. I’m learning to take things as they come, to focus on what matters, and to reconnect with the things (and people) that feel right.

So thank you for still being here, for understanding the need to disappear sometimes, and for supporting me when I do come back. With that being said, we’re back…let’s go!
